The Project Brief:
Design a full colour brochure promoting the Mount Batten Centre’s outdoor activities to schools and groups.
The Initiative:
Offering a wide range of outdoor activities from sailing to rock climbing, the Mount Batten Centre needed to communicate their activities in a way which would appeal to both children and adult decision makers. We decided the brochure should be informative and visually stimulating; a class room aid as well as a factual document for teachers and parents.
The creation of a cartoon hermit crab provided a recognition tag which could run throughout all future marketing material aimed at children as well as provide a platform for promotion… a competition to name the character!
Researching the centres key competitors, how they market their services to schools and using this information, the Mount Batten Centre’s own proposition and original, creative ideas to develop a competitive and informative brochure. The project also required the collation and selection of appropriate images, communication with relevant departments to write accurate copy as well as negotiating with printers and delivering the final product!
The Result:
A professional, full-colour poster/ brochure which was sent to over 150 schools and clubs, stimulating enquiries and subsequent bookings.
